These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Taste app and related website pages where these terms are referenced.

Purpose of the app

Taste helps users collect, import, organize, find, and maintain their own recipes over time. The app is intended for personal recipe collections.

Requirements for use

The app is provided through the Apple App Store. Apple's and the App Store's terms also apply to download, installation, purchases, subscriptions, and payment processing.

Certain functions may require a compatible Apple device, a current operating system version, an Apple ID, iCloud, internet access, or active app permissions.

User content

Users are responsible for the content they create, import, store, edit, export, or share in Taste. This includes in particular recipes, texts, ingredients, notes, images, links, categories, and tags.

Users may use only content for which they have the required rights and whose use does not infringe third-party rights. This applies especially to imported recipes, images, copied texts, and shared content.

Taste does not generally check user content for legality, accuracy, completeness, or third-party rights.

Recipe import

Taste can import content from websites, files, and other sources. The import is intended to make it easier for users to transfer their own or lawfully usable recipe content.

Users remain responsible for whether they are allowed to store, edit, export, or reuse content from a source. External websites may have their own terms of use and technical restrictions.

Free use, subscriptions, and lifetime purchase

Taste can be used free of charge as long as the applicable limits are observed. Free use may be limited in particular by a limited number of recipes, Smart Folders, or other functions. The applicable limits are shown in the app.

Paid functions or the removal of certain limits can be unlocked through a monthly or annual subscription or through a lifetime purchase. The available products, prices, trials, and terms are shown in the App Store or in the app.

Subscriptions renew automatically under the App Store rules unless cancelled in time through Apple. Management, cancellation, refunds, and payment processing are handled by Apple.

End of a subscription

If a subscription ends and no other valid access exists, saved recipes remain stored. Access to recipes above the free limit and certain actions may be restricted until valid access exists again.

Lifetime purchase and voluntary support

Where a lifetime purchase is offered, it is a one-time purchase. It unlocks the paid functions included in the app without a recurring subscription. After the lifetime purchase, no further subscription costs are charged for this unlock. This also applies to future Taste functions insofar as they become part of Taste and are not expressly described in the app as a separate offering.

Voluntary support products, if offered, support further development and unlock functions only if this is expressly described in the app.

iCloud synchronization

Taste can use iCloud and CloudKit to synchronize recipe data between a user's devices. iCloud must be available and configured accordingly on the device.

Synchronization can depend on Apple services, network availability, device status, and iCloud account settings. Taste cannot guarantee that iCloud synchronization will always be available without delay or error.

Private Sharing

Where Private Sharing is available, users can share recipes or categories with other Apple IDs. When sharing, other people may read or edit content depending on their permission.

Users are responsible for sharing only content they are allowed to share with the selected people. Shared content can be changed by the actions of authorized participants.

Private Sharing depends on Apple CloudKit, iCloud, the participating Apple IDs, the respective permissions, and the network connection. Availability without errors or delays cannot be guaranteed.

AI-supported functions

Taste may offer AI-supported functions, such as extracting, translating, or structuring recipe content. These functions are assistive tools. Results may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable and must be checked by the user before being accepted or reused.

Export, import, and backups

Taste may provide local export and import functions. Users are responsible for storing exported files securely and sharing them only with suitable people.

Taste tries to avoid data loss and may contain protection, diagnostic, or recovery mechanisms. However, complete and always successful recovery of all data cannot be guaranteed.

Health, nutrition, and food safety

Taste is not a medical, nutritional, or food safety advisory service. Recipes, nutrition information, quantities, preparation instructions, allergen information, or AI-generated suggestions must be checked by the user.

Users are responsible for considering ingredients, allergens, cooking times, hygiene, intolerances, and health requirements.

Changes to the app and these terms

Taste may be further developed, changed, or discontinued. Functions may be added, changed, restricted, or removed where legally permissible.

These Terms of Use may be updated if the product, functions, subscriptions, technical foundations, or legal requirements change. The current version is available on the website.

Liability

Taste is developed and provided with care. Nevertheless, errors, interruptions, data loss, import errors, synchronization problems, or incorrect content cannot be completely excluded.

Liability for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health and for damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct remains unrestricted.

In the event of a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations, liability is limited, where legally permissible, to foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Essential contractual obligations are obligations whose fulfillment enables the proper use of Taste in the first place and on whose compliance users may regularly rely.

Otherwise, liability is excluded where legally permissible.
